| Company required a web application for an appraisal management system. The overall purpose was to define user accounts for clients and appraisers and allow clients to submit requests for appraisal while the appraisers can complete these requests as per allocation of client orders by administrator. Order status can be tracked and messages were sent as notifications when each step of the process was executed. |

| Project Description |

| Company requires a web application using a web application for an appraisal management system. This system was a web application that was run on a LINUX box with PHP for programming and MYSQL for RDBMS. The overall purpose was to define user accounts for clients and appraisers and allow clients to submit requests for appraisal while the appraisers can complete these requests as per allocation of client orders by administrator. Order status can be tracked and messages were sent as notifications when each step of the process was executed. |

| Capability Analysis |

| This section provides the list of capabilities that the application was provide to various types of users of the application. The following types of users was considered in our design: |

| In the following three sections, we have described the key capabilities that our application was provide to the three user types above. |

| Administrator |
| Administer was have a login screen and can change password after login. We have assumed that there was only one admin user. |
| Ability to create clients as well as appraisers who was gets a user name and password and their profile details were managed by administrator. Operations supported was "ADD / EDIT / DELETE and VIEW All" in a paginated tabular list. |

| Admin can view the list of orders classified by status and can allocate orders to appraisers or change the status of any order as required. Order details can also be edited by the admin user and admin can add comments for orders. However, the orders get locked against editing by clients once the admin user allocates these orders to appraisers. |
| Admin user can change the status of the order as follows: |
| Submitted (at this level, the client may even update the order details) |
| Declined (at this level, the client may even update the order details) |
| Allocated (beyond this level, the client cannot edit the order) |
| In Process (when the appraiser clicks on the order and accepts it) |
| Under Validation (when the appraiser uploads the PDF file) |
| Completed (when the admin user verifies the appraisal) |

| Admin can send messages to both clients and appraisers. These messages was appear when the user logs in and was also be sent to the user e-mail ID |

| Client can login and change password and details in profile |
| Client can view the full list of own orders by status and download the appraisals for any completed orders |
| Client can see the list of messages and can reply a message to site admin and an e-mail was also sent. When a message was received by client, it was also received as an e-mail. Attachments was supported for messages |
| Client can submit the order and can edit the details in the order until the order was allocated by administrator and gets locked against editing |

| Appraisers can login and change password and details in profile |
| Appraisers can view the full list of allocated orders by status and download the appraisals for any completed orders. Appraiser can print the order details for allocated orders and can upload the PDF file containing the completed appraisal for any order. Appraiser can also replace an old appraisal PDF with a new one if required for orders that was in process. Appraiser can post comments on an order and see the reply comment in same was a from site admin |
| Appraisers can see the list of messages and can reply a message to site admin and an e-mail was also sent. When a message was received by appraiser, it was also received as an e-mail. Attachments was supported for messages |

| Visitors can view the home page with company profile, contact details and a description of features of our appraisal system. |

| The OS was any variant whether RH or Fedora or SUSE of Linux Server and RDBMS was MYSQL 4. Web Programming was done in PHP 3.2 or 4 as required. |
