| Capability Analysis |
| Expandability & flexibility of design and function are key points here. Initially this was a subscription-based site with a storefront (at some future date). Payments were processed via Pay Pal.). The overall 'look and feel' of the website was uniform throughout the site - with the exception. Each web page had 'auto-size' to the user's resolution. Also wanted the ability to add a 'pop-up' or floating box on any page in the site. & had had the ability to cast video into the 'pop-up' or floating box. While the concept of the site was to allow full access using a subscription fee, option matrix provided the ability to set up some tabs to require a separate or additional subscription/fee. It could be subscription or a one-time fee. Site search - users should been have the ability to search the internal site. On every page (static/dynamic/pop-up) there should be a 'offend' button for users to notify support that they find the page they are viewing as offensive. |
| Users that register was issued a member number based upon the format AANNNN where A=alpha character and N=number. |
| Main Tabs/Zones |
Home Page - This was the Landing Page. It must be sharp and elegant in design. Page should load quickly - minimize graphic usage whenever possible to expedite loading. Store - We was selling branded products (drinks, clothing, supplements, etc) and use a shopping cart to check out. Payments was made using PayPal. Chat Rooms - This was an area set aside for the chat rooms. All chat rooms was created and controlled by the admin. In addition, video chat room was made available as well.
Game Page - This area was set aside exclusively for games. Initially, we want to include koozearcade.but were expand the type and selection as the site grows. I want to be able to track the points users earn playing games. A user was able to use their point to 'bid' on giveaway items. Virtual Trainer - The virtual trainer was a 'stand alone' app. The users information was passed from the primary database and used in the trainer database to track and record preferences & progress. Meal Planner - The Meal Planer was a 'stand alone' app. The users information was passed from the primary database and used in the trainer database to track and record preferences & progress. Fitness MySpace - Users was having their own 'mySpace' page hosted and controlled by this site. A user was able to post their own pictures, videos, and/or audio. Users should be able to customize their space. We should also have the ability to control how much space a user utilizes - by group and/or individual as well as globally. Users should have the ability to search for other users. Admin - This was the site control section. Visible only to administrators. Admins have the ability to make changes, run reports, and change settings. This was the area where I want the ability to select content to insert in designated pages as a 'pop-up' or floating box. My Account - This was the information about each user's account & information. Users that are participating in the MLM portion can see their individual reports under their account settings. Articles - This area was having its own WYSIWYG editor for people to submit articles. They can submit pictures to accompany their article, but I am not interested in allowing them to submit raw documents. (Don't want to worry about the myriad of document conversions) Kids - This was an area specifically for kids to learn about exercise, play games, and have fun. No specific design or applications have been selected for this area yet. Sign-Up - This page was self-explanatory. It was include a video that automatically plays once the page was opened. Membership type was explained in the MLM section. The referred by was a drop down list that contains every member's name and member number. The drop down list can be sorted by name or member number (depending upon selection). The default was Member Number. Security Considerations Precautions should be incorporated into the site to protect that website against bandwidth attacks. Reports Client wanted a few pre-defined reports ready to go as well as the ability to create new reports. |

| Technology Architecture |
| The proposed application was programmed in web architecture using PHP 5 and MY SQL 5 as RDBMS (LAMP architecture). Application architecture was centralized for easy manageability. Application was optimized for Internet Explorer 6+ but HTML 4 compliance was preserved to ensure cross browser compatibility with other common browsers like Firefox, Safari and Netscape Navigator. |
| Cross browser compatibility was largely ensured through use of XHTML 1.0 and HTML 4 compliance. All application testing was done in Firefox which has a more restrictive implementation of HTML / JavaScript and this ensures that it runs well in IE browsers too. Any cross browser issues was debugged if they arise during module testing. |
| Optimistic locking was used in database operations to improve concurrent user performance. Extensive use of stored procedures was ease network traffic and database performance. |
